The awards ceremony of the 2018-2019 China Construction Engineering Luban Prize (National Quality Engineering Award) was held in Beijing on Dec 10. Four projects of Sinomach were awarded the Luban Prize, the most prestigious award in the Chinese construction industry.

The winning projects were the San Buenaventura sugar factory project, the Bolivia Uyuni 350KTPA potash plant project, the Belarus Geely Automobile production line project, and the second-phase construction project of Xiaocangfang sewage treatment plant in Hefei, Anhui province.

These honors reflect Sinomach’s comprehensive strength in the field of engineering and construction, show its excellent brand image, and provide an impetus for the company to achieve high-quality development.

The San Buenaventura sugar factory project in Bolivia, contracted by China CAMC Engineering Co (CAMCE) and undertaken by China Machinery Industry Construction Group (Sinoconst), two subsidiaries of Sinomach, is Bolivia's first state-owned sugar plant project, which has the potential to fundamentally resolve the country's chronic dependence on sugar imports. At its one-year performance assessment, it was found that the project's production capacity had reached the expected standard, with a smooth overall delivery and acceptance process. It has become a benchmark for Chinese companies in Bolivia.

The Bolivia Uyuni 350KTPA potash plant project, undertaken by CAMCE, is located at the Salar de Uyuni. With strict environmental protection requirements and harsh construction conditions, it is one of the world's few high-altitude industrial projects, as well as a solid step forward in Bolivia's industrialization process.

The Belarus Geely Automobile production line project, undertaken by Sinoconst, is the first modernized CKD production line built by China in the CIS region, filling in a gap in passenger vehicle production in Belarus. Though faced with plenty of challenges such as difficult winter construction conditions, high technical accuracy and strict Belarusian standards, the engineering team completed the work to a higher standard than the contract required. The plant has been in good condition and creating high-quality products since it was put into operation. It has become a model of China-Belarus cooperation and won wide praise from the two countries’ leaders and social organizations.

The second-phase construction project of Xiaocangfang sewage treatment plant, undertaken by Hefei General Machinery Research Institute, a subsidiary of Sinomach, is a science and technology, environmental protection and community project to improve water quality and residential environment. Since the project passed its environmental assessment, it has won both the "Huangshan Cup" Anhui provincial construction engineering award and the third prize of Anhui provincial science and technology progress.

In the future, Sinomach will go all out to build more high-quality projects and play a positive and active role in China's economic development and Belt and Road construction.
